If your project involves improving accessibility or accommodating limited mobility, you’re in good hands—we are Certified Aging-in-Place Specialists (CAPS) and can help design a space that is both functional and comfortable for long-term living.
2. Design Agreement (2–3 Months)
Once you’re ready to move forward, we’ll enter into a design agreement.
This phase typically takes 2–3 months and includes:
- Developing detailed plans and layouts
- Selecting materials, finishes, and fixtures
- Refining the scope of work
- Establishing a clear vision for your project
Our goal is to eliminate guesswork and ensure every detail is thoughtfully planned before construction begins.
3. Work Agreement
After finalizing the design, we’ll present a detailed work agreement.
This includes:
- Project scope and specifications
- Timeline (varies depending on project size and complexity)
- Investment details
Once approved, we schedule your project and prepare for construction.
4. Construction
This is where your vision becomes reality.
Our team manages every aspect of construction with a focus on:
- Quality craftsmanship
- Clear communication

We keep you informed throughout the process so you always know what to expect.
5. Completion
As your project wraps up, we conduct a final walkthrough to ensure everything meets our standards—and yours.

Our Interior Designers
At J&R Construction we have Professional interior designers on staff to help every step of the way. We also partner with several Certified Interior Designers and Firms in Lexington and surrounding areas, along with many Architects. Our designers or architects will draw your project using our design software system that can show you the final project in 3-D and even change colors of fixtures and finishes in real time, so you can visualize your project in its entirety before we even start.
Once your project kicks off we will then take you to our trade partners’ showrooms to help you find everything you need for your home, including:
- Plumbing fixtures
- Flooring
- Electrical fixtures
- Cabinets
- Counter-tops
- Etc.
